High Speed Shredders

Material Change operate Bandit Beast 3680 shredders.  These high speed shredders are capable of processing green waste, whole tree waste, stumps, pallet wood, straw and miscanthus bales and food products for animal feed amongst other materials.  The Beast shredder is capable of processing about 50 Tonnes of green waste per hour. Removable screens and bottom gates can be changed to enable required sized product to be achieved.  Our high speed shredders are fully mobile and road-going, pulled by an articulated unit. The shredders weigh around 40 Tonnes, so suitable hard standing is required for setting up these machines.  To keep up with the throughput, it is best fed using a telehandler or loading shovel which we can provide at an additional charge if required.

Slow Speed Shredders

We operate Tana Shark 5430 slow speed shredders on all waste types not suitable for processing with a high speed shredder.  This machine is capable of processing plastics, municipal solid waste, compost rejects, carpets and plasterboard. The shredder has a single rotating shaft which pushes up against dead knives, reducing the waste to a size suitable for passing through the removable screens.  Fully mobile and road-going, the shredders are pulled by an articulated unit.  It weighs in the region of 40 Tonnes and so suitable hard standing is required for setting up this machine.  It is best fed using a 360 excavator so that materials can be spread across the rotor.  Again, we are happy to provide this machinery if required.

Screens

We operate Finlay 790 Trommel Screens and a Backers 2-way split Starscreen, fitted with air separation.  Capable of processing compost, woodchip, soils, RDF and MSW at rates of up to 100m3 per hour.  These screens are mobile and are pulled by an articulated unit. An area of hard standing or firm ground is required for placing these screens due to their weight.  These screens are all available to hire on a self drive basis or with one of our highly skilled operators.

Chippers/Grinders

We have a number of small chippers on our fleet that are available to hire on a self drive basis – ranging from 6” to 24” Bandit chippers.  These are ideal for processing small trees, hedging plant materials on site where material can be left in the form of woodchip at the place of processing or directed into the back of a tipper.

Workshop services

Our workshops are manned by qualified engineers who maintain the quality of our equipment and carry out repairs.  Our engineers are available on a rapid response callout when a breakdown occurs, enabling our equipment to be back up and running within no time.
