Material Change has been providing professional on-site shredding and screening services to local authorities, waste management companies, farmers, site clearance jobs etc. since 2002 when the company was originally established. Through excellent customer service, operating reliable machinery and having a dedicated operations team, we have become renowned for providing a first class service in the industry. We will manage your process on site from receiving the green waste through to screening products and sourcing outlets for them.
Regular contract shredding services
We provide regular shredding and screening services throughout the UK and in doing so, remove the financial burden, risk and liability of operators having to run their own equipment. Regular scheduled visits help to keep the site running smoothly and minimises the risk of stock building up and creating odours on site.
One off land clearance work
Our Beast shredders are ideal for processing tree clearances on site. They can be set up with special chipper knives that will process tree waste into a product suitable for biomass to a G50 specification, which can then be exported from site with a resale value, or material can be processed for volume reduction to be composted off site, or reduced smaller to be used on site for adding nutrients to the soil or as a mulch or weed suppressant.
Case Studies – Chertsey Site Clearance
Material Change was awarded a contract in November 2009 to clear tyres from the side of the M25 at Chertsey. Tens of thousands of tyres had been dumped illegally and were becoming an environmental nuisance and a fire hazard. As part of this contract, all tyres were collected and transported off site in articulated loads for recycling into landfill cell engineering material. The site was cleared of all contamination, levelled out and left neat and tidy. The works were completed ahead of schedule and within budget. The following comments were received from Steve Fuggles, Head of Engineering for Runnymede Borough Council, following the completion of this contract:
