Bay Farm

Bay Farm

AD Facility

Bay Farm Power Ltd is set in a rural location 6 mile North East of Newmarket at Red Lodge in Suffolk.

Bay Farm was commissioned 2017 and is designed to inject 450m3/hour into the gas grid from a mixture of waste and grown crops. The plant sources all of its feedstocks locally and supplies digestate back to local farms where the light soil benefits greatly from the organic matter and nutrients.

The gas clean up system uses membranes to separate the carbon dioxide from the methane, the carbon dioxide is liquified and supplied to a number of local breweries and greenhouses, while the methane is treated further to be ready for injection into the gas grid.

The site development included clamps for crop storage and lagoons which can store nearly 6 months digestate output.
