Feedstock Assistant
Hybrid – Field & Office based – Full time
Material Change Limited has over 18 years’ experience in recycling and energy generation industry. We operate and manage 11 Anaerobic Digestion plants across the UK processing more than 380,000t of organic material and food waste to generate renewable gas, electricity and CO2. We clear and sell over 500,000t of chicken litter as a renewable feedstock and fertilizer replacement. With 6 compost sites across the Midlands and East of England we provide quality assured and farm grade Compost, Mulch and Bark to landscapers, Gardeners, Local Farmers and Local Authorities.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Feedstock Assistant to support the Farming Feedstock Manager & AD Sites with growing and procurement for agricultural crops for the East Region.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support the Farming Feedstock Manager with rented land farming operation for maize rye and grass cultivation; including the use of solid and liquid digestate.
- Field walks with the agronomists.
- Assist with plans for cultivations, drilling and crop protection.
- Liaise with Growers throughout the growing season.
- Assist with Harvest plans for contractors (to include Grass, Rye and Maize)
- Record data from all contractors.
- Support with Weighbridge cover for 5 sites during harvest periods.
- Plan logistics for satellite clamp movements
- Assist with collation of Sustainability Data.
- Assist in procuring other suitable AD feedstocks
- Assist with feedstock reporting and monitoring
- General admin requirements
The role will include interacting with customers both commercial and agricultural
Skills and Experience needed for the role:
- Agricultural experience & competence
- Self-motivated
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work alone & with teams of Agri contractors
- Clean Full UK driving licence is essential
This is a full-time permanent, field and office-based role. Flexibility is essential during peak harvest periods.

Sales Manager – Compost & Digestate
A position has arisen at Material Change for a Compost & Digestate Sales Manager to expand the business operations in addition to generate sales leads and prepare documentation for Compost & Digestate sales for all sites across the company.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for making sales of compost & digestate to local farmers, landscapers and other third parties to take compost & digestate from sites in the UK.
Key duties will include:
- Farm Compost Sales
- Digestate Sales
- Telephone and email enquiries
- Liaising with the customers and yard employees
- Monthly sales spreadsheets Board
The role will be remote based but you will be expected to travel to potential customers in order to sell compost. You will need to be self-motivated and driven to meet or exceed sales targets. A background in agriculture or composting would be an advantage. Full driving license essential. Salary and package commensurate with experience.
AD Plant Operator
The candidate will be responsible for AD plant operations, daily maintenance, monitoring of plant and machinery and ADHOC duties as and when required. Maintenance experience and knowledge of anaerobic digestion and/or waste treatment will be advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Loading hopper with feed stock
- Site maintenance (ensuring that the site is clean and tidy)
- Daily reporting
- Daily checks
- Assisting with reports on the AD Plant
Reporting to the AD Site Manager, you will be reliable and hardworking. This is a hands-on role working with agricultural machinery. Some computer work is also required as part of the role.
Key points:
- Driver’s license is essential.
- Telescopic Handler operator ticket preferable
This is a full-time position. Weekend rota cover will be required as part of the role. Overtime for holiday and sickness cover will be required when necessary. Material Change believes in staff training and development and there is opportunity for career development within our organisation.
Compost Site Operator
Material Change Limited has over 18 years’ experience in recycling organic waste. With 6 compost sites across the Midlands and East of England we provide quality assured Compost, Mulch and Bark to landscapers, Gardeners and Local Authorities. We produce agricultural grade compost for farmers and manage 8 anaerobic digestion plants across the UK.
The successful candidate will join a team who are responsible for the processing of green waste producing our PAS:100 certified Compost.
As part of the role, you will be required to operate loading shovel, telehandler and 360 and shred, screen and windrow green waste material. You will also assist in the waste transfer shed loading out material and will be required to assist with site daily checks, plant and machinery daily maintenance, carry out odour monitoring off site and assist with all general site operations, weighbridge cover and yard duties.
Mobile plant experience essential (although training on some of the above machines can be provided where you do not have experience of all of them). Composting experience is an advantage but not essential. Training and PPE will be provided.
Requirements:
- Experience – Loading Shovel / Telescopic Handler
- Good Awareness of Health and Safety
- Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
- Good time keeping
- Accurate record keeping
