Haynes Composting Site

The Haynes Compost facility is a purpose built green waste recycling site located at Old Main Road, Haynes Church End, Bedford, MK45 3QS.

This site is permitted to receive 10,000 tonnes per annum of degradable household and processes 7,500 tonnes of green waste per year primarily delivered by Central Beds Council. Incoming green waste is shredded and windrowed prior to screening at 10mm or 28mm. All oversize is re-processed. A total period of not less than 12 weeks’ elapses before material can be exported to allow sanitisation and stabilisation of the compost thereby meeting the PAS:100 standards. Compost produced at the site is sold for landscaping and used as a fertilizer for local farms.

This site operates to PAS:100 & Compost Quality Protocol standards and all material produced is classed as product.
