Winter Clear Up
November 12, 2017
Winter is definitely on it’s way. The clocks have changed and we’ve had the odd frosty morning. The hedgehogs have either started their hibernation or well on their way. So far, October and November have seen average temperatures with a crisp autumn breeze, bringing bristling leaves, floating delicately towards the ground. Many trees are now bare, but a few trees are gripping tightly onto their last leaves. It’s time for that winter clear up!
A mature, healthy Oak tree can have around 200,000 leaves. During 60 years of life, such a tree would grow and shed 3,600 pounds of leaves. That’s a lot of leaves and a lot of nutrients that can be gathered. At Material Change, we are dedicated in recycling green waste and tuning it into compost to put valuable nutrients back into our soil. Our compost is 100% natural, using only plant material. We often get asked ‘What can I bring into you?’ Here is a list of green waste material that we can and can’t accept;
