Tree-Cycle Campaign 2025/2026
February 13, 2026
Material Change are proud partners in the Tree-Cycle Campaign 2025/2026.
During January, our Helmdon Composting Site received and composted discarded real Christmas trees as part of FCC Environment’s Tree-Cycle initiative.
Tree-Cycle is an annual fundraising project supporting charities across the UK. Throughout January, residents leave their undecorated real Christmas trees at the kerbside for collection. The trees are then transported to recycling facilities — such as Material Change — where they are responsibly recycled and composted, giving them a sustainable second life.
This year in Northampton, the campaign supported Cynthia Spencer Hospice. A total of 222 Christmas trees were collected from households, with 213 processed at our Helmdon Blackpits Recycling Site. Thanks to the generosity of local residents, volunteers, and partner organisations, the initiative raised over £3,000 for the hospice.
